Hip-hop and drumming master Questlove was a guest at Red Bull Music Academy 2013, where he gave a lecture, answered some questions, and did a little drumming for two hours. The Roots' drummer and bandleader spoke at length about the theory of 10,000 hours of practice, heading in other musical directions from his father's expectations, and simplicity versus complexity. He also spoke about the new opportunities opened up to him now that the band is working in one city, rather than touring constantly.
