Country rock powerhouse Sturgill Simpson stopped by Santa Monica's Apogee Studios this April to perform his latest album, A Sailor's Guide to Earth, in its entirety for KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic.

The show, which included an interview between Simpson and KCRW host Chris Douridas, provides an intimate look at Simpson's playing as well as insight into his career and the makings of A Sailor's Guide to Earth.

Highlights from this performance include an especially soulful rendition of "Keep It Between the Lines" and a heartfelt "Welcome to Earth (Pollywog)," as well as the interview section where he spoke candidly about covering Nirvana's "In Bloom" for the record and accidentally reinterpreting the words.

A Sailor's Guide to Earth is out now on RJ Records. Pick it up on Amazon.
