Islands recently stopped by Guitar Center of Hollywood to record a live session featuring songs off their latest album Ski Mask. "We'll Do It So You Don't Have To," as frontman Nick Thorburn explains, is Ski Mask's oldest song, written on an acoustic guitar in 2007 in his New York apartment. He goes on to add, "Islands is more than just an acoustic guitar. So, that's where we all come in."

Before performing "Here Here," Nick Thorburn shares the song was inspired by the British documentary series "The Up Series." Having followed the lives of fourteen individuals since they were seven years old in 1964, the documentary provides insight into the development of a Brit's life depending on their unique socio-economic background. The series produces one episode every seven years including the most recent release in 2012.

Ski Mask is available on iTunes via Manque Music. Islands will be playing a show at the Troubadour in Los Angeles - their current home base - on January 21st.
