These past few weeks seem to belong to Charli XCX. The electric-pop pixie has had new covers and remixes coming out almost every week after the release of her own debut album True Romance, most recently a cover of the Backstreet Boys and a rework of Lindstrom's "Faar-i-kaal." These reworks and her collaborations with Icona Pop, tourmate Marina and the Diamonds and indie-rapper Danny Brown just go to show, this soon-to-be-star is not afraid to experiment. This weeks hottest news on the artist, so far, that is, is a remix of her own song "What I Like" by Blood Diamonds.
The LA based producer, also known as Mike Tucker, does the track just right, melting it in a bright nebulous haze of tin and deep drum beats. This track is just one of Tucker's newest successes following a remix of Kendrick Lamar's "Bitch Don't Kill My Vibe" and an appearance at SXSW in March. Blood Diamonds may not be well known now, but this time next year, explanations wont be necessary. Listen to this track when you're chilling at home, partying with friends or "playing board games, horror films with the secret door."
