British rockers Foals just released their cover of Florence + The Machine's "What Kind of Man," off their 2015 album, How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful. Filmed at the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge, this isn't just another F+TM cover. Towards the end of the song, Foals cleverly incorporate some of their song "What Went Down" to build up into the final hook of "What Kind of Man."

Aside from adding part of "What Went Down," they kept true to the Florence + The Machine arrangement, using synths in place of the horn lines. Foals' cover seems like a modernized version of the song as opposed to the original, which has a decidedly '70s arena-rock vibe.

It's interesting to hear "What Kind of Man" sung from the male perspective, as it deals with patriarchal manipulation. Foals delivers a tactful rendition, filled with plenty of soul and empathy.

What Went Down is available on Amazon (Vinyl, CD, MP3). You can also stream the full album for free and read our review right here on Zumic.
