Julian Casablancas + The Voidz have released a creepy-cool video for "Where No Eagles Fly," the second sneak peak of their debut LP. Watch above.
The video features lots of quick, fragmented shots: New York City scenery, home video clips, slasher film-inspired visuals, and plenty of fake blood. It's one big throwback, with arcade game sounds and outdated special effects.
Casablancas is a sucker for a good bassline, like the one we heard in their first single, "Human Sadness," and not unlike The Strokes' mega-hit "Juicebox." Strewn with a range of influences including punk, post-punk, and new wave, the track takes on an abrasive industrial tone, coming unhinged around the minute mark. It's grounded in its bass and heavy drum machine effects and doctored up with electronic add-ons.
"Where No Eagles Fly" will be featured on their upcoming debut album, Tyranny, out September 23rd via Casablancas' own Cult Records. Pre-order it on Amazon. For more news and tour dates, check out the Julian Casablancas website.
