Music activist Neil Young has shared with Democracy Now! a solo acoustic recording of his new song "Who's Gonna Stand Up." Listen to it above.
The warm sound of Neil's acoustic strumming supports his firm vocals as he asks who's gonna stand up. There's no electrified solo or heavy psychedelic jams here. There's just a man, his guitar, and his message. Neil has written plenty of protest songs throughout his musical career, and this one stands strong among classics like "Ohio," "Southern Man," and "Rockin' In The Free World."
Earlier this month, Neil shared a live electric version of "Who's Gonna Stand Up" with a full band including horn section along with an article called SEPARATION OF CORPORATION AND STATE on his official website. You can listen to that below:
Democracy Now! will be broadcasting the song during it's 3-hour live broadcast from the People's Climate March on Sunday, September 21 from 10:30am to 1:30pm ET. You can go to their official website for more information.
Be sure to check out Young's Farm Aid 2014 full performance, which included "Who's Gonna Stand Up."
