The new video for "Wish You Could Stay (A Little Longer)" by supergroup Sweet Apple and featuring Mark Lanegan was released today. The band is composed of J Mascis (Dinosaur Jr.), Tim Parnin (Cobra Verde and Chuck Mosley), John Petkovic (Cobra Verde, Death of Samantha, and Guided By Voices), and Dave Sweetapple (Witch and Vardlokk). Their new album, The Golden Age Of Glitter, will be available tomorrow through Tee Pee Records.

The song is pure '70s power pop, with a simple two note guitar riff over acoustic strumming and Lanegan singing a delicate Alex Chilton-like melody. Of course no J Mascis song is complete without one of his wailing solos, this time followed by a key change. The video shows each member of the band from different points of the country being connected by a paper airplane. It starts with J Mascis folding the plane in a record shop and throwing it to Dave Sweetapple in New York. Check out the video above.

You can preorder The Golden Age of Glitter on iTunes.
