Joey Bada$$, the quickly rising Brooklyn indie-rapper, has announced the planned release of mixtape Summer Nights, set to drop on June 12th. In honor of the new mixtape, Bada$$ released single "Word is Bond" yesterday, featuring production by Statik Selektah. This is Bada$$'s second collaboration with Selektah after track "Bird's Eye View" featuring Raekwon and Black Thought.
The new single sounds like a throwback to `90s rap with scratches on the beat, piano notes highlighting the tune, and no synth to be found. Download it for free on Brooklyn Vegan or take a listen below.
