Get ready, vinyl collectors. This Friday, November 27, will mark Record Store Day's 2015 Black Friday event. Among the many special edition releases, Dan Auerbach's new project, The Arcs, will be releasing a 10" six-song EP titled The Arcs vs. The Inventors Vol. I via Nonesuch Records.
Above, you can listen to one of the tracks included on the release — "Young" — which was co-written with David Berman from indie rock band Silver Jews. In a press release, Dan Auerbach shared some insight about this collaboration with Berman:
We've been meeting at night, writing together for a few years. This is the first time we’ve shared any of that. The Arcs have recorded more songs from the collaboration and we hope to release more of it very soon.
"Young" is a mellow cut with a smokey darkness about it. Electronic drum beats and atmospheric sounds compliment Dan Auerbach's echoed vocals, while the spacey dub reggae bassline with soulful keys bring some Jamaican flavor.
The The Arcs vs. The Inventors Vol. I release also features Dr. John and Los Lobos' David Hidalgo. A digital version is expected to be available on December 11, 2015.
