For all those who still don't know who Your Old Droog is, his Headphone Highlights segment for the Red Bull Music Academy will give you all a peek into his world. In the hour long interview, he briefly discusses his upbringing and early life but spends a majority of his time speaking about the artists that inspired him as he plays their music.

He begins with R&B singer Screamin' Jay Hawkins' "I Put a Spell On You." Rappers such as MF Doom, Slick Rick, Kool G Rap, The Notorious B.I.G, Fabolous, Lloyd Banks, Ghostface Killah, and others made Droog the artist he is now. Although he mainly focuses on rap music, The Brooklyn-born rapper makes it clear that he does not musically limit himself. He's a big fan of jazz, rock, and blues as well. Take a listen to Droog's interview and playlist above.

Purchase his self-titled debut album Your Old Droog on Amazon and iTunes.
