Taylor Swift may have broken through to superstar status with her electronic-tinged dance songs, but she hasn't forgotten about her folk-country roots. This week, she shared the title track of her upcoming album, "Lover," along with a lyric video. Watch and listen above, courtesy of her YouTube account.

Relaxed acoustic guitar, bass, and drums set a comfortable vibe for Taylor's heartfelt vocals. Over the course of nearly four minutes, there are plenty of intimate moments and a soaring chorus, "Can I go where you go? / Can we always be this close? / Forever and ever / Take me out / And take me home / You're my, my, my, my... lover."

Swift commented about "Lover" in a statement shared by Rolling Stone, saying, "This has one of my favorite bridges... I love a bridge, and I was really able to go to Bridge City."

Lover is scheduled for release on August 23. Pick it up on Amazon. Previously released tracks from the upcoming album include "You Need To Calm Down," "ME!," and "The Archer."
