Progressive acoustic trio Nickel Creek seemed to be right at home in the small setting for their NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert. The three musicians blended beautiful harmonies and played their instruments with a natural ease. In each song, a different member of the band took lead vocals, with the exception of the final composition which was completely instrumental. The band put on a lively performance for the small audience at the NPR Music office and filled it with laughter between songs, discussing Chris Thile's new braces and Sean Watkins' final song before judgement day.
It comes to no surprise that Nickel Creek has been together for twenty-five years after seeing how comfortable the trio is performing together. The California-based band filled the room with an infectious energy with each song they played. A few weeks ago, the group released their sixth album, A Dotted Line, and they are now finishing their US tour.
You can purchase A Dotted Line on iTunes, Amazon, and their official store. For Nickel Creek’s latest music, news, and tour dates, check out their Zumic artist page.
