Just about a month ago, we shared "(For a While) I Couldn’t Play My Guitar like a Man," the first track from former Ween member Aaron Freeman's first album as FREEMAN, and now we've got a second. "The English and Western Stallion" is very different from its predecessor, but no less awesome. Stream it above.

Eschewing the bummed-out style of folk rock found on "(For a While) I Couldn’t Play My Guitar like a Man," Freeman and his band instead go for power pop in the vein of Big Star or XTC on "The English and Western Stallion." This time around, Freeman's acoustic guitar is accompanied by an organ, an overdriven electric guitar solo, a straightforward drumbeat and sugary sweet vocals. Ween's inventive songwriting was always a highlight of their constantly-in-flux approach to music, and on this song, it's clear that Freeman hasn't lost a step since the duo's breakup.

Preorder FREEMAN's self-titled debut ahead of its July 22nd release date from Partisan Records' official website.
