Franz Ferdinand have just released the hilariously gory official music video for "Evil Eye," a track off their new album Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action. Do not watch this at work. Don't do it.

The video is a wonderful homage to vintage exploitation and horror, complete with several severed limbs, a beheading, some corpse-snuggling, and not a small amount of cannibalism. Most of the scenes seem unrelated, but who cares? It's good, not-at-all clean fun.

From the YouTube description:

The video for Evil Eye is very much inspired by the 'horror theme' of the song title. Directed by acclaimed U.S. film-maker Diane Martel, who said -- "This is a creepy nasty video for my dear friends and my favourite band. I'm proud to be part of this brilliant album's visuals!".

As Stereogum points out, Diane Martel is also the director behind "Blurred Lines" and "We Can't Stop," so we're not really surprised at her willingness to make a controversial video.

Check it out above and be sure to buy Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action through Domino Records.
