Last month, Galactic released a dynamite album called Into The Deep that featured a number of guest vocalists. The day before, they performed at The Triple Door in Seattle with one of those vocalists, Macy Gray. Watch their full performance above, courtesy of radio station KEXP.

This is a spirited, funky concert. Simply put, the New Orleans jamband veterans know how to party. Corey Henry acts as the frontman for the group through the first half of the set, until Macy Gray takes the stage for "Into The Deep" at the 26:40 mark of the video.

Galactic and Macy Gray are a great match. Both are modern day funky soul groups who make music that's really creative and "out there." At a couple points, Macy says, "I'm on stage with the greatest band in the whole wide world," and for her skill set, we tend to agree. The performance is a little rough around the edges and the audio mix isn't perfect, but this is still a good one.

Pick up Into The Deep on Amazon (Vinyl, CD, MP3). You can also stream the album and read our review here on Zumic.
