Janelle Monáe Live at Governors Ball 6.6.2014 [Zumic Recap, Photos + Setlist]

Janelle Monáe got crazy during her 2014 Governors Ball set.

She took the stage Hannibal Lecter-style, wheeled out in a straight jacket. Once she was freed, she loosed a rousting set of ass-shakin' crowd favorites. Kicking things off with "Givin Em What They Love," she brought massive energy from the get-go. Her full band matched the manic enthusiasm as they reeled off the hits, "Dance Apocalyptic," "Sincerely, Jane," "Q.U.E.E.N." and "Electric Lady" one right after the other.

For an afternoon show, the crowd was massive, and her stage presence grew to match. Between her charming dance numbers, the man with the straight jacket attempted to recapture her, but to no avail. She instead donned a James Brown-esque cape and closed the set to the roaring crowd. Check out the photos below.
