Yesterday, A$AP Rocky took to The Tonight Show stage to perform a medley of the tracks "L$D" and "Jukebox Joints," with the help of The Roots. At.Long.Last.A$AP, Rocky's new album that features both songs, reached #1 on the Billboard 200 and sold 146,000 copies in its first week.

The album's success, however, has not made Rocky lazy. As one can see in the video above, he is putting solid effort into the promotion of the album, adding unique new aspects to his performance. Far from being superfluous, the bed, fog machine, and lights all enrich the tone Rocky is trying to convey -- specifically during "L$D." And while Rocky's singing chops aren't fantastic, the immediacy of a performance with a live band enhances the track's trippy and dazed aesthetic.

"Jukebox Joints" is a more conventional live rap performance, relying on Rocky's formidable lyrics and flow to carry the track. While his singing during the chorus on this song feels out of place, the verses, drums, and dreamy samples make up for it.

You can pick up At.Long.Last.A$AP on Amazon (CD, MP3). You can also stream the full album for free and read our review here on Zumic.
