Thirty Seconds to Mars are a band undergoing a major change with their upcoming album, America, shifting from rock to a more electronic R&B sound.  This week, the band released "One Track Mind" with chill electronic backing and a verse from Harlem-born rapper A$AP Rocky. Listen above.

The emotional mood of the track is set up by the digitally processed opening lines from Rocky, "Love is like problems / We all got 'em."  This is the first time that the band has featured a rap artist on one of their studio album tracks, and Rocky comes through with a memorable verse, finishing with a play on the band's name, "Heard it's only 30 seconds to Mars / Then it take you even less just to get to my heart." Not to be outdone, Jared Leto's vocals are smooth yet intense through the song, building and then releasing tension.  While the backbone of the song is electronic, there is a dramatic guitar solo toward the end as well.

"One Track Mind" is the third single released from the America LP, following "Dangerous Night" and "Walk on Water." The full album set to be released on April 6th, pick it up on Amazon.

The band have North American tour dates scheduled, beginning in June. For more, check out the Zumic artist pages for Thirty Seconds to Mars and A$AP Rocky.
