When Tycho's last album came out in 2011, the project's sole member was Scott Hansen, who created tranquil electronic landscapes that were very easy to get lost in. For his new album Awake, due out on March 18th, he's enlisted guitarist/bassist Zac Brown (no, not that Zac Brown) and drummer Rory O’Connor to flesh out his sound. Listen to the album's expansive "Montana" above.

Though it retains many of the same elements of Hansen's solo recordings, the instrumental "Montana" adds some complexity that would be hard to achieve without its live musicians. In particular, O'Connor is a truly driving force here, providing rhythmic intricacy that bolsters Hansen and Brown's meandering jamming.

Hansen also works as a graphic designer under the name ISO50, and this video features "live visuals" akin to the projected backdrops he constructs for his live shows. It's pretty subtle for a "music video," but when accompanied with its audio, the "Montana" video provides a great excuse to space out for five and a half minutes.

Preorder Awake on the ISO50 website, and stream its title track on SoundCloud.
