This past February, Minneapolis-based group Poliça traveled to London to perform a few songs off their most recent album, Shulamith, at the Wapping Power Station. Watch the videos of them performing "Spilling Lines" and "Smug" below.

"Spilling Lines" showcases the band showered in red and blue light. As the camera moves, it creates a double vision effect on singer Channy Leaneagh. When she moves the tubes behind her create a red hologram. Musically, her voice soars over pulsing percussion and bass, and her voice takes full advantage of the distortion pedals, reverberating across the room. The video creates an intimate experience for the viewer, but Poliça brings the beauty and intensity that one comes to expect whenever they do a live performance.

The second performance, "Smug," offers a stark contrast. Instead of reds and blues, the video is shot in black and white. This allows the camera to play with lights and shadows effectively. The vocals are powerful and the distortion is even more pronounced in this song than the previous one.
