Of the many music acts that performed on the 40th anniversary celebration for Saturday Night Live, none may have more of a history with the show than native New Yorker Paul Simon. Having hosted the show four times and performed twice, he was invited back again last night and performed a warm version of "Still Crazy After All These Years." Watch above.
Following a modest introduction from Jack White, the folk troubadour takes a minute to respectfully acknowledge the Saturday Night Live backing band, including Lenny Pickett, Leon Pendarvis, Shawn Pelton, and G.E. Smith. The familiar keyboard notes begin, and Paul sings the tune with animated gusto. Saxophonist Lenny Pickett contributes an outstanding solo as the band lays a solid rhythm foundation.
