At only 24 years old, musician Will Toledo has recorded a LOT of music. After self-releasing his first eight studio albums, Matador Records picked him up and helped Will release Teens Of Style in 2015. His project, which he named Car Seat Headrest because he recorded the vocals of his early albums in the back seat of his car, have caught the attention of those in the music industry.

Car Seat Headrest's 2016 LP, Teens Of Denial, delivers the goods for fans of charming and honest rock. The record contains twelve songs covering 70 minutes, and was produced by Steve Fisk. Band members on the album are Will Toledo (vocals, guitars, organ, piano, mellotron), Ethan Ives (bass, vocals, guitars, vibrato switch on organ), Andrew Katz ( drums), and Seth Dalby (bass on "Unforgiving Girl").

Straight from the opening of the album, “Fill In The Blank” charges ahead with energetic guitar playing and “Vincent” finds Will skillfully experimenting with effects.

“Destroyed By Hippie Powers” features some of the album’s strongest vocals. Will lets his storytelling abilities shine on "The Ballad of the Costa Concordia, and "Connect the Dots (The Saga of Frank Sinatra)" allows Ethan and Andrew to shine with their musicianship.

Songs we like are “Fill In The Blank,” “Vincent,” “Destroyed By Hippie Powers," “Not What I Needed,” and “Drunk Drivers/Killer Whales,” "Unforgiving Girl (She's Not An)," "Cosmic Hero," "Connect the Dots (The Saga of Frank Sinatra)," and of course the 11-minute epic "Ballad of the Costa Concordia."

Teens Of Denial is currently available on Amazon. You can also stream the full LP for free above, via Spotify.
