Today, grunge rockers Soundgarden have shared their cover of Sly & The Family Stone's "Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin)," which they recorded during a 1989 John Peel Session. The song will be included on a box set of rarities titled Echo Of Miles: Scattered Across The Path. Listen to their version above.
Soundgarden transforms the original funky dance version into a heavy, alt rock piece full of crunchy guitar chords and Chris Cornell's signature screams. The biggest similarity between the two versions is the slap bass technique Ben Shepherd uses, pioneered by Sly Stone's Larry Graham in the '60s. It's a funky jam that proves Soundgarden's repertoire can cover a wide range of genres.

Echo Of Miles: Scattered Across The Path will feature a collection of unreleased songs, demos, and covers taken throughout the band's career. The box set will be available November 26th, and is available for pre-order through Amazon (CD, MP3) and iTunes.
