"U Get Me High" - Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers [Lyrics + Spotify Stream]

A new track from Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers is up on Spotify. It's called "U Get Me High," and it's from their upcoming album, Hypnotic Eye, due out July 29.

Not to be confused with "You Get Me High," a track from Tom Petty's 1995 box set, Playback, "U Get Me High" is fairly chill with an understated yet cool bass line and smooth vocals. It's a bit of a contrast to the other songs released from the album, "American Dream Plan B" and "Red River," both of which support Petty's statement in Rolling Stone that Hypnotic Eye will be a "straight hard-rockin' record."

Tom Petty is giving away copies of Hypnotic Eye with every ticket for his upcoming 2014 tour. That includes advance downloads of five tracks, including "U Get Me High," "American Dream Plan B," and "Red River." The downloads are also available if you pre-order the album on either iTunes or Petty's site. You can also get them if you are a member of the group's Highway Companions Club.
