"This Is What It Feels Like" - Banks [SoundCloud Audio]

Up-and-coming Los Angeles singer Banks just released her debut EP, London, earlier this week. It was led by her beautiful first single, "Waiting Game," and now we can hear another new track entitled "This Is What It Feels Like." As with the lead single, it's mellow and dark in both mood and production. However, instrumentally it departs from the piano sound and instead goes for synths and a drum machine to back her strong vocals. Banks mixes lower register singing with a higher, delicate harmony on the verses, while the choruses feature cascading vocals that highlight her technical skill. After a minute long instrumental break, "This Is What It Feels Like" ends as delicately as it started. The track features vocals from British singer Jamie Woon, and was produced by Lil Silva.

"This Is What It Feels Like" appears on the new London EP, which is available on iTunes now. Banks is also currently touring North America with the Weeknd. They'll be making their way across the US and Canda through late October. You can find remaining dates and tickets on Ticketmaster.
