Eminem confirmed his position in hip-hop with a performance of "Rap God" at the YouTube Music Awards. The Detroit lyricist, dressed in a cap and hoodie, started the performance off rapping the first two verses in a room only with his DJ and hype-man to back him. Once the third verse started, the veteran appeared on stage in front of the crowd, receiving screams and applause.

On stage, Eminem was backed by an excellent live band, that played the "Rap God" beat to perfection. It was hard to tell the difference between the vocals of the actual record and live performance, as he did not miss a step in spitting the lyrics. Just like the track, Eminem's pace of rhymes went from slow to fast repeatedly, proving that he is indeed at the head of the rap industry.

With the black and white effect, it was one of the better performances of the night. Eminem's The Marshall Mathers LP 2 is in stores tomorrow. For a full listen before the album is released, stream the album here at Zumic.
