Suspense film master John Carpenter has shared a music video for his song "Night." The track is featured on his most recent album Lost Themes. Watch it above via Sacred Bones Records YouTube.
In this video directed by Gavin Hignight and Ben Verhulst, we see John Carpenter putting on a virtual reality headset and gloves. He drives through city streets and highways during the night. Beautiful aerial shots and a suspenseful soundtrack guide us to the character's destination, where he comes face to face with a mysterious figure armed with a sword. Here's what Gavin Hignight told io9.com about making the video:
Upon hearing "Night" by John Carpenter my head was instantly filled with these nighttime highway road dreamscapes. Someone or something, haunted, traveling the road alone in the late hours.
Our goal was to take that feeling and put it into a video that paid tribute to the film work of Carpenter but at the same time gave him a new world to play in... in this case literally through Virtual Reality.
Lost Themes is available on Amazon (Vinyl, CD, MP3).
