Up-and-coming country singer Sturgill Simpson stopped by Conan last night to play "Living The Dream" off his most recent record, Metamodern Sounds in Country Music. Watch the performance above.
What will first strike the listener about Sturgill Simpson is his voice: It's low and gruff, and he sings with power and passion. It will immediately remind you of classic outlaw country musicians like Merle Haggard. He had great control of the stage, and, by the end Conan was thoroughly impressed by the performance.
