Brooklyn based group Wolf! have shared a second single from their upcoming album, 1-800-WOLF!. Listen to the instrumental "Tomahawk Chop" above, courtesy of the band's SoundCloud.

The tune is a funky and gritty number with bassist Jon Shaw and drummer Taylor Floreth laying a bed of groovy rhythm for guitarist Scott Metzger to riff over. Metzger shared a quote about the song with JamBase:

"Tomahawk Chop" is our interpretation of an old, familiar melody... We recorded this one up in Woodstock with our pal Marco Benevento engineering. We liked the first rough mix he did so much, that’s what you hear on the record.

The melody Scott is talking about started at a Florida State Seminole football game in 1984 and has been used afterward by the Atlanta Braves and other sports teams who have assumed Native American identities.

1-800-WOLF! is scheduled to be released on October 14, 2016 through Royal Potato Family. Listen to the LP's first single, "Pork 'n Slaw."
