On June 3rd, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah will release their new album, Only Run. Now they have created a music video for their song "As Always," which you can watch above.
The video profiles the wild night out of a man. The video begins with him in a motel, post-affair, and then shows his adventures throughout the rest of the night and into the early morning. He goes to a Mexican restaurant and watches a van on fire zoom past him, he heads to a bar, and ends the night shooting guns in the desert. Watch until the end of the video because there's an insane twist.
The song pairs perfectly with an after-midnight drive. It begins with a spacey synthesizer and slowly moves into a dreary, dreamy guitar as the man in the video drives his car. The vocals are dark and slow, matching with the song's tempo and the overall feel. By the end, the central character's regret plays off the songs melancholia and wraps everything up nicely.
You can pre-order Only Run on iTunes and Amazon. You can also stream the first single off of the album, "Coming Home," featuring The National's Matt Berninger right here on Zumic. For Clap Your Hands Say Yeah's news, music and updated tour dates check out their website.
