M.I.A. recently debuted her new track "Only 1U" on NTS, a London based radio station, during their "Open Deck" segment, get weirdly freaky to it below (the song begins a little after the 2 minute mark):
No word if "Only 1 U" will be on M.I.A.'s intensely awaited new album, Matangi but one can only hope the record will feature more of this sort of raw, all-over-the-place-in-a-good-way music. Ms. Mathangi Arulpragasam (aka M.I.A.) has already shared Matangi track "Bring The Noize" as well as the disheartening information that the suits at her record company are holding the album back, telling BBC's Zane Lowe that:
"It's not easy, it's not easy. It's not easy. I keep finishing the record and handing it in, finishing the record and handing it in. It's just one of those things where I've given up at this point. I was literally going to start... putting out records from my bedroom," she said. "This was my last stab at it-- I'm going to hand it in and wait for it to go out the way albums go out. If I didn't get it out right now, I would've definitely exploded."
Imagine that, some asshole at a record company hindering the creative process. I am Jack's complete lack of surprise.
