Jack White has released his cover of "Parallel," a track originally by fellow Raconteurs and Dead Weather member Dean Fertita. The song is the B-side on White's newly released 7" single of Lazaretto track "Would You Fight For My Love?"

The song is a harmony-rich, folky take on Fertita's original. White's bluegrass-influenced cover swells and fades, bouncing from simple strummed verses to hard-hitting indie rock peaks. It also calls back to the keyboard sounds from Fertita's version, with a surprising synth lead soaring over the song's final minute. It's an odd juxtaposition of genres, but given the source material, it works out rather well.

You can pick up the single on 7" vinyl through Third Man Records, or stream the songs on Spotify.
