Ratdog 2.20.2014 in Montclair, NJ Full Audio Stream:
On Friday night, Bob Weir and RatDog played to a sold out crowd at the Wellmont Theater in Montclair, NJ. The show held a special significance to members Bob Weir and Jay Lane, as it was their 900th performance under the RatDog moniker. The lineup for this tour features Bob Weir on guitar / vocals, Jay Lane on drums, Robin Sylvester on bass, Jeff Chimenti on keyboards / piano, Steve Kimock on lead guitar, and Rob Wasserman on upright bass.
The setlist featured Grateful Dead classics as well as popular covers but only one RatDog original song, "Money For Gasoline." It was only the second time the band has performed the Jerry Garcia tune "Don't Let Go" live. Bob Weir's tune "Bombs Away" also made it's first live appearance since March 23, 2007. Song highlights included Chimenti's solo on "Sugaree," Bob's singing on "Black Peter," and Kimocks playing on "Brown Eyed Women." Though the band was dealing with feedback noise throughout the entire show, they fought around it and performed a relaxed, slow tempo show that kept the fans in high spirits all night.
RatDog has a few more shows along the East Coast before trucking it to the Central North region. For further tour and ticket information, check out the Bob Weir Zumic artist page. Below are more pictures from the night as well as two YouTube clips.
