Just as his second studio album, The Ecology is set to drop, Fashawn puts out the album's first single, "Something to Believe In."

With help from Nas -- whose label, Mass Appeal Records, will be releasing the upcoming album -- and Aloe Blacc on the hook, the California rapper spits over a soulful beat reminiscent of old school rhythm and blues with all its passionate, horn-filled glory. Fashawn and Nas both drop deep bars in their verses and Blacc croons on the hook with thought-provoking lines like "What a brother gotta do to earn a meal? / Emancipation proclaimed, still turnin' the field." The album drops this Tuesday so we won't have to wait long to hear what other fire Fashawn has in store for us. In the meantime, check out "Something to Believe In" above, via SoundCloud.

The Ecology is available for pre-order on Amazon (Vinyl, CD, MP3).
