Disturbed fans have been patiently waiting for new music from the band, and today that patience has been rewarded. After 3 days of teaser videos posted on the band's Facebook page, Disturbed have shared details of a new album titled Immortalized. They've also shared a new song called "The Vengeful One" with an accompanying music video, which you can watch above.
The band shared a comment on their Facebook page regarding the album and their fans:
Over the past year, we’ve been secretly writing and recording a brand new album. This album had the arduous task of, in some way, justifying the hiatus; giving the fans something that made it worth our time away from one another. We hope that it succeeds in that task. Thank you for staying with us over the years.
"The Vengeful One" sounds like the band has picked up where they left off. Heavy guitar riffs and pounding drums open the track before David Draiman's ferocious vocals take over. The song boils with intensity, occasionally picking up speed to thrash-like levels.
Directed by Phil Mucci, the captivating video matches the intense lyrics that focus strongly against corporate media. People of the world have become puppets, but a shadowy figure called the "Dark Messiah" will help save them. There's plenty of action and symbolism to keep you interested, even if you don't necessarily enjoy Disturbed's music.
The band's new album, Immortalized, will be released on August 21st. Order it on Amazon.
