"Trying To Be Cool" - Phoenix [Jimmy Fallon Video]

After playing "The Real Thing" on Jimmy Fallon's TV Show, Phoenix stuck around and played "Trying To Be Cool" as a web exclusive. Check it out:

"Trying To Be Cool" is much more of an uptempo radio friendly danceable hit than "The Real Thing" which makes it a peculiar choice to be omitted from the television show, but we're not complaining. The songwriting and arrangement are particularly interesting as we see the bass player shift from a synth keyboard to an electric string bass during the song. That groove is infectious. There's a cool synth breakdown that leads into a great climax toward the end of the song.
