After performing together at the Rock and Rock Hall of Fame ceremony, Beck and fun. frontman Nate Ruess are collaborating again. This time, it's for Ruess' upcoming solo record, Grand Romantic.
"What This World Is Coming To" is the third single from Grand Romantic and has a very different sound than Ruess' other releases. The song starts off modest and melancholic, with a simple chord progression on keys and an acoustic guitar. Drums and bass signal Beck's entrance, and together the two provide commentary on the state of the world through a soft rock, sometimes even country sounding ballad, complete with Ruess' signature falsetto and a fuzzy guitar solo from Beck.
Grand Romantic drops on June 16 and can be preordered on Amazon and iTunes.
