The Budweiser Made in America Festival has continued to gain momentum and rise in popularity since its inception in 2012. The festival is typically held over Labor Day weekend in Philadelphia's Ben Franklin Parkway, but this year’s two-day event will also be held in Los Angeles' Grand Park simultaneously, due largely to its budding success over its first two years. The festival has welcomed an eclectic mix of music and will continue to do so this year, hosting dozens of artists with rap, rock, R&B, and EDM backgrounds.
According to TiqIQ, the average secondary market ticket price of Made In America tickets for a two-day pass doesn’t vary much between the two cities, with a Los Angeles two-day passes having a slightly more expensive price on average. Imagine Dragons and John Mayer are set to headline the LA festival, while Philadelphia will see Kings of Leon and Tiesto take the stage over the weekend. Kanye West will also take up a grueling weekend schedule, as the rapper is set to headline both cities, playing Philadelphia on Saturday and Los Angeles on Sunday.
The average price for a Philadelphia two-day pass is currently $157.33 on the secondary market, just 5.2% cheaper than the Los Angeles two-day pass average of $166.11. The small disparity between cities is largely due to the prominent lineups scheduled for each festival venue, which will include many of music’s top-billed acts in both Philadelphia and Los Angeles.
Along with Kanye West on Saturday, Philadelphia’s Ben Franklin Parkway will also welcome Steve Aoki, The National, J. Cole, The Neighbourhood, De La Soul, R3hab, and Kongos, and several other artists. On Sunday, Kings of Leon and Tiesto will be preceded by Pharrell Williams, Danny Brown, Chromeo, and City and Colour. Other acts scheduled for Sunday include Mayer Hawthorne, Awolnation, DJ Cassidy, and Tommy Trash.
Rapper, business mogul and entrepreneur Kanye West will make an appearance at both the Philadelphia and Los Angeles functions over the weekend. The rapper is scheduled to play Philadelphia on Saturday before traveling to Los Angeles for the festival’s final day on Sunday. EDM juggernauts Steve Aoki and R3hab will also follow suit and appear at both coast’s respective festivals with a Saturday show in Philadelphia and a Sunday performance in Los Angeles.
In its inaugural year of the Made in America Festival, Los Angeles will welcome Kendrick Lamar, Afrojack, Iggy Azalea, Schoolboy Q, and Mute Math alongside headlining act Imagine Dragons on Saturday. Sublime with Rome, Metric, Capital Cities, and Y will also play Saturday. Kanye West makes his trip to the City of Angels on Sunday, and other acts include Rise Against, Weezer, Cypress Hill, Chance the Rapper, Rita Ora, Juanes, and Wolfgang Gartner.
