Mikal Cronin rocked Conan on Tuesday, where he played "Change" off of his latest album MCII. Cronin and his band gave it their all in the nearly flawless performance.

Cronin's calm, pleading voice sounds like it could sink perfectly into any musical genre, and the long-haired singer made easy, confident switches between the chord-heavy reflective verses and the shredding, drum-hammering choruses of "Change." A little bit after the 3:00 minute mark, the violinists go all out as well, and one pulls his bow across the strings at a breakneck pace that we begin to wonder if he can keep up — he does.

This is not Cronin's first performance on Conan. Last year he performed on the same stage with the Ty Segall band.

In his "Guest List" interview with Pitchfork in May, Cronin said that taking the stage on Conan with Segall was the best thing he had done in the past year.

"I got to play on the Conan O’Brien show with Ty Segall Band. It was really surreal and frightening, but also reassuring that trying to play music for a living is a good idea. And getting to meet Conan, who I’ve loved for years and years, was crazy. He actually spent time talking to us and told Ty he’s a big fan of the music. He seemed genuinely excited and stoked."

Hopefully this performance was as fulfilling as his last. We hope that Cronin stays confident in making music for a living, because he is damn good at it.

If you haven't heard MCII yet, you can buy the album, and preview a few songs, here.
