Earlier today, Janet Jackson released her first single since 2009, the year her brother Michael passed away. The song is the first release on Janet's newly formed label, Rhythm Nation / BMG, and the lead single on her upcoming album. Listen to the new track, "No Sleeep," above, via the pop singer's official YouTube account.
The song is a slow and sexy R&B jam with a pulsating bass line and sizzling drums, co-written and produced by Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis -- a team who Janet first worked with in 1986. If you had any doubts about Janet Jackson at age 49, rest assured. Janet's vocals sound amazing. On social media, she shared the following message:
I dedicate this to My Love.
#NoSL333P #ConversationsInACafe
While some were speculating that her upcoming album would be called Conversations In A Cafe, because she's been using that hashtag, unnamed sources have told Entertainment Tonight that the album will be called Unbreakable. Regardless of what it will be called, it's available exclusively (for now) at the janetjackson.com store.
