In one of the more unique ways to announce a record, Katy Perry's third studio album, Prism, was revealed by a golden truck seen in Los Angeles on Monday. Fellow pop star Adam Lambert tweeted a photo of the golden truck, pictured above, which shows not only the name of new album, but also its release date of October 22nd. Katy Perry confirmed on Twitter that Prism is indeed the name of her new album, and has made the announcement even more fun by inviting fans to post pictures of the truck on Twitter, promising that she will retweet them.
This viral campaign is sure to be exciting for her fans, and a huge way to get the word out - Katy Perry recently surpassed Lady Gaga as the most popular woman on Twitter.
Prism will be the follow up to Katy Perry's 2010 release, Teenage Dream, which set a single-album record for a female artist with five #1 singles. She has been hard at work on Prism most of 2013, and has reportedly collaborated with Max Martin, Dr. Luke, and Greg Wells - all of whom have also co-written songs on her previous two LPs. With their track record, the new album should be packed with fun, radio-friendly pop rock singles that her fans will love.
Look for Prism on October 22nd.
