Broken Bells have released their 2nd full length album, After The Disco, and are poised to go on tour. Last night, they played the song "Holding On for Life" on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. Watch above, via Hulu.

The performance is subdued, fitting the album version of the tune. Danger Mouse plays bass, while James Mercer sings and plays acoustic guitar. Supplemental musicians provide backing on drums, guitar, and keyboard. The song is a cross between futuristic space rock and classic Bee Gees disco pop. Fantastic musicianship pushes this to a high level, pushing the straight forward tune with a simple bassline, solid groove, and infectious vocal melody.
