The Supreme Court of the United States recently shot down DoMA (Defense of Marriage Act) which has opened the doors for the homosexual marriages to be legally protected. Last night at a gay pride rally at Pier 26 in New York City, Lady Gaga made a public appearance and brought the house down:

Wow. To begin, the speech is a definite crowd pleaser as Gaga conveys a feeling of triumph as her LGBT friends have been fighting for a simple matter of equal human rights. Then when Lady Gaga goes into the national anthem, holding a rainbow colored flag, she does a truly fantastic job. In one of the more interesting moments, she changes the words to "flag or pride" instead of "banner" as she raises the rainbow flag above her head.

This was the first public appearance for Gaga since she cancelled her tour to have hip surgery earlier this year. Earlier this week, Gaga was ranked as the most powerful musician (and #2 overall, behind only Oprah) on the Forbes Celebrity 100 List.
