Earlier this month, WNYC teamed up with concert calendar website Oh My Rockness to present Gigstock, "an evening of music and conversation" that featured sets from the Pains of Being Pure at Heart and Parquet Courts. Today, the radio station uploaded live performance videos from the show onto YouTube, and you can watch three songs and a medley from Parquet Courts below.

Performing just one older tune, the title track of their great 2012 LP Light Up Gold, Parquet Courts gave us a preview of their upcoming album Sunbathing Animal, which comes out on June 3rd. First we got the Malkmus-esque "Bodies," which tells of "bodies made up of slugs and guts" and had Austin Brown giving an abstract, post-punk style guitar solo. "Black And White" was next, with Brown handing off vocal duties to Andrew Savage, whose lightning speed, shouted poetry punctuated the upbeat rocker. Things slowed down for "Instant Disassembly," a melancholic song that had the four-piece in a locked groove while Brown picked a bright melody on his guitar, but by the time Parquet Courts launched into "Light Up Gold" / "Sunbathing Animal," their energy was at its highest point of the night.

While you breathlessly await Sunbathing Animal, watch the title track's music video right here on Zumic and preorder the album from SunbathingAnimal.com.
