Dave Grohl's movie Sound City, about the Van Nuys recording studio of the same name, culminated in bringing back some of the biggest and best artists who ever recorded on the legendary Neve mixing console that Grohl has now moved into his own studio.  The album featuring The Sound City Players is set to be officially released on March 12th.

The album is an interesting mix between all-star collaborations, one-off tributes to Sound City, and what you might expect from the newest Dave Grohl / Foo Fighters record.  If you like hard rock, you'll probably dig it.

"You Can't Fix This" featuring Stevie Nicks on vocals is already getting airplay as a rock single.  "Cut Me Some Slack" featuring the living members of Nirvana with Paul McCartney has gotten a lot of attention, especially after their performance during the 12/12/12 benefit for New York City after Hurricane Sandy.  The last track, "Mantra" featuring Grohl, Trent Reznor, and Josh Homme may be the hidden gem.
