Warren Haynes' jam band Gov't Mule has released a video for "Funny Little Tragedy," a single featuring Elvis Costello off of their newest album Shout! The song begins with a backbone of snappy bass, before breaking into a groove of distorted guitars. Costello's punky vocals are the centerpiece of the whole arrangement, bringing the whole band, known for longer, experimental guitar work, into a concise punch.

The video is either incredibly violent or incredibly suggestive depending on the interpretation. Playing out in stop motion animation, it features a whole cast of fresh produce cutting one another up, occasionally boring holes to jump inside. The scenes have a sense of surrealism, especially when a lime cuts open a banana to free several grapes from its hide. Suddenly, the lime pulls a banana from the banana and promptly butchers it. What that could possibly symbolize is anybody's guess, but the whole video is an entertaining watch.

Check out the rest of Shout!, featuring other artists including Dave Matthews, Jim James, Steve Winwood, Grace Potter, on iTunes.
