Earlier today, Nickel Creek have released an audio single of "21st of May" via their YouTube account. Listen above.
On their Facebook and YouTube accounts, the band explained the inspiration for the song:
Sean wrote this song on May 20th, 2011, the day before the supposed rapture as predicted and advertised by Bay Area pastor Harold Camping (whose point of view he sings it from). It was a close call but we made it.
Nickel Creek's next album, A Dotted Line, is available April 1st on Nonesuch Records. Pre-order the album at NickelCreek.com and get an instant download of this track, "Destination," and "Love of Mine." Their last studio album was released nearly a decade ago, in 2005.
Last month, they posted a single for another new song called "Destination."
