Fans of the Seattle grunge sound will be happy to hear that a new supergroup has formed. Ten Commandos, featuring members Matt Cameron (Soundgarden, Pearl Jam), Alain Johannes (Queens of the Stone Age), Ben Shepherd (Soundgarden), and Dimitri Coats (OFF!) have shared the first single from their upcoming debut album. Listen to "Staring Down the Dust" above, with former Screaming Trees member Mark Lanegan on vocals.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Matt Cameron spoke about the song:

This was the first song we recorded and we finished the rhythm track very quickly. We all liked the sound and feel of the song, but once we heard Mark Lanegan's vocals on it, he took it to another level completely.

There's an unmistakable '90s heavy feel to "Staring Down the Dust," and a Soundgarden "Rusty Cage" vibe to the hypnotic guitar riff and sound. Lanegan's slightly hazed vocals sound great and match the song's intensity. The tune may feel like a throwback to the grunge era, but it sounds fresh enough to stand alongside today's rock sound.

You can preorder the band's debut album on PearlJam.com. It's set for a November, 2015 release through Monkeywrench Records.
