Brooklyn's The Great Googamooga (I feel silly just typing that) sets itself apart from most music fests in that food and drink play just as big a role as the music in the planning of the three day festival which takes place May 17th-19th in Prospect Park. That's saying something considering the first rate music lineup they've put together for this year's fest. The Friday night kickoff concert features The Flaming Lips, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs and The Darkness and then the weekend series features Sharon Van Etten, Father John Misty, Matt & Kim, Lee Fields & The Expressions, Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings, De La Soul, Cults, The Soul Rebels and Delicate Steve.

In addition to all that great music, The Great Googamooga will feature food from approximately 85 restaurants from around New York City, a wine tasting tent with over 100 wines and a beer tent with another 100 varieties. This all sounds glutinous and fantastic to me, consider me a fan already.

Tickets to the Friday night show are $49.50 and VIP Cocktail Experience tickets for Saturday and Sunday go on sale Thursday (3/28) at noon, and general admission tickets for Saturday and Sunday become available in an online ticket giveaway which runs from April 1 to 3. "Complimentary tickets will be awarded at random and recipients will be notified by email on or before Wednesday, April 10."
